Bernice "Skip" Pearce died suddenly in her home on April 14, 2023, in East Amherst, NY. She was born in Westover, PA, on May 9, 1924, to parents Mildred and Edward Young. She was predeceased in death by her husband Edwin, who died in 1992; daughter Dorcas (George) Pearce-Reister, who died in 2011; brothers Charles, Arthur, and Roger Young; and sisters Alvaretta Godman, Mary Lucile Holcomb, and Ruth Sherbeck. Survivors include her brother Thomas Young; sisters Floyde Stokes and Edith Bush; and children Judith (Howard) Shaw, Jeffrey (Ann) Pearce, and Jay Pearce. Loving Nana to four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who span five generations. A private service is planned at a later date for the family.
