Went home to be with the Lord February 15, 2017. She was born November 29, 1938 in Norristown, PA, the daughter of Charles and Millie Murfin Neumann. She graduated from Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She spent the majority of her career caring for infants at Buffalo Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She never forgot a patient and she was famous for staying in touch with the families of “her” babies. She attended many high school and college graduations as well as several weddings of children she had cared for. Eileen married John L. Trost July 23, 1960 in Collegeville, PA. Together they are the parents of three children and six grandchildren. They were members of Clarence Center Brethren In Christ Church (now closed) , later attended Clarence United Methodist Church. John and Eileen loved to travel together and she was an efficient planner. She was as adept at packing three kids and a husband for a trip to the lake as she was getting just the two of them to Europe. Eileen loved crafting and baking. She was a member of Home Bureau for many years and she loved to give Christmas presents that she had made herself. She was known far and wide for her baking ability. She loved to make cakes and pies but her true specialty were her cookies. It was not uncommon for her to bake hundreds of cookies every Christmas. The back porch would be littered with tins and Tupperware filled with dozens and dozens of cookies of every description. Eileen was a devout Christian and always tried to live up
to the ideals of her faith. She was the embodiment of the Christian tenet of service to others. She is survived by her loving husband, John L. Trost of Clarence Center; children Michelle Siminski (Dale) of Clarence, Charles Trost (Karli) of Hollywood, MD and Jennifer Toffel (Ken) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren Dean Siminski, Gary Siminski, Katrynna Trost, Trevor Trost, Courtney Toffel and Brooke Toffel; brother Harold Neumann (Ruth) of Collegeville, PA; brother-in-law Norman Trost of Clarence Center; sister-in-law Anna Mumaw of Newport News, Va and many nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends. Friends may call upon the family at DENGLER, ROBERTS, PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 8630 Transit Rd., East Amherst, NY on Monday, February 20 from 5 – 8 PM. Services will be held Tuesday, February 21 at Clarence United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM. Eileen will be laid to rest at Good Cemetery, Clarence. www.denglerrobertspernafuneral.com
