John Lorenz Trost 1932 – 2019
John Lorenz Trost was called home to the Lord Aug 1, 2019. He was born Nov 23, 1932 in Buffalo, NY the son of German immigrants, Heinrich “Henry” Trost and Johanna Englehaupt Trost. After high school he was trained as a tool and die maker working first for Thruway Molders and then moving on to Abbott Laboratories. John married Eileen Neumann Jul 23, 1960 in Collegeville, PA. Together they are the parents of three children and six grandchildren. They were members of Clarence Center Brethren In Christ Church (now closed) and later attended Clarence United Methodist Church. John & Eileen loved to travel together both in the US and Europe. They also spent many summers camping with family in the Pocono Mountains. John was an avid fan of Buffalo sports. He held season tickets for the Bills for many years and was a loyal fan (win or lose) his entire life. He also followed Sabres hockey. Many winter evenings would find him by the TV watching the game and “coaching” loudly from his chair! John also loved NASCAR and attended a couple of races every season. He loved his big cars of the 60’s and 70’s and was very upset when Lincoln stopped making the Town Car. Another of his passions was as “assistant crew chief” for his grandson’s kart racing. In his younger years John enjoyed fishing trips to northern Canada. He would always have some project going on around the house since he was looking for an opportunity to work with his hands. He had a tool for just about anything. He loved to help others with any of their projects too. John will be greeted in Heaven by Eileen, his loving wife of 57 years; his parents, sister and brother-in-law. He is survived by children Michelle Siminski (Dale) of Clarence, Charles Trost (Karli) of Hollywood, MD and Jennifer Toffel (Ken) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren Dean Siminski, Gary Siminski, Katrynna Trost, Trevor Trost, Courtney Toffel and Brooke Toffel; brother Norman Trost of Clarence Center; sister Anna Mumaw of Newport News, Va; sister-in-law Ruth Neumann of Collegeville, PA and many nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends. Friends may call upon the family at Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home 8630 Transit Rd. East Amherst on Monday Aug 5, from 4 – 7 pm. Services will be held Tue Aug 6 at Clarence United Methodist Church at 10:30am. John will be laid to rest at Good Cemetery in Clarence. May you sense God's nearness in this time of sorrow. Memories are from a long time ago - but they are good memories.

John, or Dad as I called him, was the best father in law and grandfather a guy could have asked for. He will greatly be missed....
