Jon C. DeLong

July 2, 1946 - September 13, 2025. Beloved husband of Barbara (Hites) DeLong. Adored father of Andrea (Chris) Blakeslee and the late Laura DeLong. Dear son of the late Edwin and Lestina DeLong. Loving brother of Linda (Rex) Briscoe, Janet (Keith) Aldrich, Dwayne DeLong, and the late Dale DeLong. Jon was loved by his honorary daughter, Robin Rice, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jon grew up in Morris, NY and moved to Buffalo to attend the University at Buffalo where he received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and his MBA. He owned his own company, K-Tech Associates. Jon met the love of his life, Barb, at a Bison's baseball game when he cut her in line. They went on to build a life together, and Jon made raising their daughters his main priority.

Jon was a man of strong faith and loved the Lord with all of his heart. Jon was an active member of his church and loved serving in many ways, including leading Bible studies, small groups, soup kitchen, the music ministry, and being the financial chairperson.

Jon had many hobbies. He was passionate about his family, singing, and all things birds. He was an accomplished tenor vocalist whose favorite singing partner was his daughter, Andrea. He enjoyed reading, skiing, fishing, bowling, and was a lousy golfer. Jon had a gentle and kind spirit and will be deeply missed.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, September 18 from 5-7pm at the Dengler, Perna, and Roberts Funeral Home, 8630 Transit Road, East Amherst, NY 14051. A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 19 at 11am at Following Jesus at Harris Hill, 8495 Main St, Williamsville, NY 14221. Flowers gratefully declined; In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made in Jon's name to Following Jesus at Harris Hill.
