I met Joy in 1985 in Hawaii and we became roommates for one year. She was such a lovely person and we’ve had so many laughters. It was one of the best years of my life!! Oh my dear friend….. I will miss you deeply! Aloha dear Joy… Rest In Peace! Love, your friend Anja🌺🌸🌺🌸


I met Joy in kindergarten and we were inseparable for quite a few years. I loved doing an overnight at Joys house. Compared to my house which was constant chaos her house was calm and quiet. Joy was beautiful inside and out ,the kindest , most positive chick ever. RIP my friend

I'm so saddened to hear about Joy. I have fond memories of the years we worked together at Continental. She was "joyful" in every sense of the word, and had the ability to add levity to even the roughest of days. Rest in peace, my friend. 

I worked with Joy at Continental Airlines for many years.  Her kindness and positive disposition was always welcomed as I was commuting to work in Newark, NJ.  Surely she will be sorely missed by those who loved her.
May the blessing of grace be with her soul.

My friend, Joy, was the kindest, most generous and incredibly beautiful soul you would ever know. She treated everyone with utmost respect. She was an Angel sent to Earth by God to dry our tears and make us laugh, to always share fun-filled adventures and to colour our world with bright, lively strokes of wonder, awe and joy. She always brought joy where there was sadness and heartbreak. Her life was a testimony to her name. This world has lost one of the brightest stars it will ever know. And, I lost the greatest friend I have ever been blessed to know. I cherish her memory and I thank our Lord for every moment he gave me with my precious friend. There will never be another Joy. Never! I can only hope and pray that, by her example, all those of us touched by her spirit can and will strive to become better individuals as a living testimony to this special soul. Some cultures have a custom to plant a tree to honour a life well-lived; in Joy’s case, to plant a forest would be a more fitting tribute.

Joy, you were the kindest, most loving and generous person.  You were so warm and so beautiful on the inside and out. I still can’t believe I will never be able to pick up the phone and call you again. You were honestly the best friend anyone could ever wish for, and I am so privileged, honored and lucky to have called you my friend, my family. You were the MOST thoughtful person ever! Even in your final days, I can’t believe you thought to wish me a happy birthday knowing you would not be here physically to see that day come. You truly were such a Joy! This world is a sadder and lonelier place without you here. I will think of you always and carry you in my heart. You will be incredibly missed.  I will hold tight to, and cherish all of our memories and conversations. I love you so much, and miss you so much. Rest in heaven my dear friend, until we meet again… <3
