Hard to believe you are gone a year, Judy, and we miss you and think of you. May the love you shared with all live on forever. We are planning a trip to NYC - the one you helped plan but we had to cancel because of COVID. Join us in spirit and watch over us!


Judy was a friend, whom I met through our work in Western Zone of New York State Retired Teachers' Association.  She was dedicated and professional in all she did, and organized teachers for both state and federal legislation issues. 
Judy, Betty and I served on the travel committee of Western Zone. From 2010 until she passed away, she helped plan many of the trips. She  helped organize bus trips to: Washington, Mackinac Island, Philadelphia, Canadian Rockies, Pittsburgh, W Virginia, Norfolk, Chicago, Biltmore Estates and several others. Judy was the "timbit" lady, who always brought timbits for the start of the trip.
Quiet, soft-spoken, but forceful - Judy is a friend to so many of us, and we all miss her. May she rest in peace!

Judy was the first of 16 of Truman and Louisa Yauchzy's grandchildren. I am the 9th.  Judy was uniquely suited to be the "eldest sister" to the rest of us.  Her birthday of August 16, 1938 seemed to be a heavenly sign because Judy shares the same birthday as our grandmother who died 7 years prior to Judy's birth.  Grandma left behind 6 children, the youngest of whom was 6 years old.  These 6 children rallied around each other then and for the rest of their lives. Consequently,  we cousins think of each other as siblings.   Judy was our constant, loving, eldest sister because most of all Judy was a faithful person.  
     She was faithful to her God, faithful to her sister, her daughter and son-in-law, faithful to her grandson, faithful to her nephews and their families, faithful to her cousins, faithful to her friends and faithful to her beloved fire department.
     Judy was our rock.  By my count she attended 83 of our 93 annual Yauchzy reunions, attended our birthdays, weddings, showers and funerals.  It is my prayer that the faith, hope, and love Judy freely shared with all of us will encourage us to be more like her.  In that way we can truly honor the legacy of our Judy.

My  sympathy.   Judy  was  a  remarkable  woman.   She  chaired  the  legislative  committe  of  Western Zone of  New York  Retired  Teachers  (now   Western Zone  of  RENY,  Retired Educators of  New  York).  She also  served  on  the  Resolution  Committee.   Wherever  she  served,  she  was  dedicated,  dependable, and  committed.  It  was  a pleasure  to  serve  with  her.    She  also   was  a  traveler .  Lucky me, she was my roommate  in  Savannah.

Judy was a dedicated teacher, a supportive colleague and a sweet woman.  I enjoyed working with her at Casey Middle School.
She will be missed.



It doesn’t seem real that Judy is gone.  She was my cousin, who was more like my older sister.  I was born a year later and I am Jan(et).  A year later Janice (Janny) was born.  We were three cousins who thought we were more like sisters.  We decided that we would become a music group.  The “Three J’s”.  Much like the Andrew Sisters.  Well that didn’t happen but we have always been there for each other.  Judy was always a very private person but she  never missed sending a card for a birthday or a holiday.  The cards didn’t have a message but were always signed, Love Judy💞 You knew that they were sent with Love.  So lead the way Cuz - and we will see you in the future.  Love, Jan(et)💞💞💞

On behalf of the members of Western Zone of RENY (Retired Educators of New York) sympathy and prayers are extended to Judy's family.  She was an active member in our organization for almost twenty five years, and gave of her time, energy, and love.
In her name, a donation will be made to the Robert DeCormier Trust of NYSRTA, which assists retired educators in need. May she rest in peace 

Judy was the FIRST among the Yauchzy first-cousins.  I always appreciated her calm and pleasant demeanor.  She will be missed.  Condolences to Anne Marie, Jan, Scott, Declan and all the friends and family who loved Judy.
