

Of East Amherst, New York entered into rest on September 6, 2025 at age 90. Beloved wife of the late Russell Macaluso. Loving mother of Diane (William Tasker) Macaluso, Brenda (Kurt) Silvestro, Greg (Monica) Macaluso and the late Rusty Macaluso. Dear grandmother of Sarah (Adam), Anna (Ryan), Will (Danielle), Bridget (Matt), Mary (Ryan), Forrest (Dana), Julia and Kenny. Great grandmother of Lily, Sofiana, Rusty, Riley, Samson, Cecilia, Skylar, Alexander, Ava and Theodore. Sister of Ruthie (the late Harold) Oakes, Sharon (Philip) Haendiges, William Maxwell and the late Janet (the late Frank) Meyers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.Beyond her many roles, Lois was the heart of her family—steadfast, creative, and full of grace. A gifted seamstress, she lovingly crafted quilts for every wedding and new baby, each stitch a symbol of her devotion. Her hands were always busy—knitting sweaters, baking homemade bread and desserts, preserving garden harvests, and even baking communion bread for her church. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering unwavering support and joy at every stage. Her strong faith carried her family through life’s hardest moments, including the loss of her beloved son. With a spirit of adventure and a heart open to new experiences, she embraced every family gathering and outing. Her warmth, wisdom, and lifelong friendships leave a legacy of love that continues to inspire us all. A visitation will be held on Friday September 12, 2025 from 11am-1pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8760 Transit Rd. East Amherst, NY 14051, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm.
