Did a search for Terry and found his obit. I worked with terry at ag tec and my ex and and his ex were social friends also. I was stunned to find his death and passed on to my 2 daughters who fondly remember him fooling with them when they were small. I'm wondering what happened. He was quite health conscious when I knew him. And might I ask we're you a student at tech? I'm so sorry for his passing. Gary Wightman

I graduated with the class of 1979. As an older student of Terry's, I was priviledged to be taken under his wing.  His unique teaching style and love of photography helped me to develop that same feeling behind the camera.  I've used the skills I learned from him throughout my diffferent careers, and now take pictures for the pure joy of it.  Terry was such a sweet and gentle man. I'll always think of him fondly.  
With a heavy heart, please accept my condolences.

To Terry's Family,
We were privledged to have Terry as our family photographer for many years when he lived and had his business in Wellsville.  Over the years I had thought of him often and wished he were still in the area.  Had I known he was so close, I would have wanted him to continue.  He was the best and he provided a treasure to our family.  We will think of him often with fond thoughts.

But He was "Your Best Friend" too. He loved the very essence of your being.
Jeannie and I are so saddened by the loss of such a wonderful, intellegent and creative person. He enriched so many peoples lives. We were all blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did. Our love and prayers are with you always.

I too was a student of Terry's "back in the day". Most of the skills I used daily in my photo career were learned from T at Alfred despite continuing my education at RIT. I still have a 30+ year old bottle of "Simmons Home Maid Elderberry Wine" that was too cherished as a momento to ever drink. Though I lost touch with him, I never forgot him. The world is a sadder place with his passing.

We rarely meet people who make a profound difference in our lives, and I was fortunate to be one of "T's" students at Alfred. Much of what I learned from him I used thoughout my 33+yr. career in Commerial Photography. With such a dry wit, lectures were enjoyable, and you never knew what was up his sleeve, as he often used creative imagry to make learning fun.

Mr. Simmons or "T" as we fondly called him was a photographer teacher of mine at Alfred State College.  He was an incredible teacher, funny, inspiring and made learning this fine art a joy!. He always pushed me to go beyond the normal "A" in my studies. He left a lasting yearning in me to always explore my creativity and I am forever greatly for this.  He will be sadly missed, my love and prayers go out to his family- however, I know he is surely enjoying his place in heaven with all its beauty and peace.
