William J. "Bill" McNamara Jr. was born on December 24, 1958, in Denver, Colorado. He passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 66. William was a resident of Orchard Park, New York. Bill was the loving father of Kelly C. (fiancé Daniel Fielder) McNamara, dear brother of Molly (late Jeff) Frost, Kathleen (Pat) Cantwell and Frank McNamara; cherished uncle of John, Brian, Danny (Pauli) Lee, Patrick, Caitlin, Grace Cantwell, Berkley (Spencer) Minton & Hayley (Nate) Freeman; great uncle to Sienna Rose Lee; beloved cousin of Joseph (Karen), Kaitlin and Joseph McNamara; loving partner to Jennifer Dahm Smith.
Raised in St. Louis, William graduated from St. Louis University High School before earning his undergraduate degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. While at Mizzou, he was a devoted member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, forging lifelong friendships and memories.
William moved to Buffalo after college to pursue his professional career. He worked as in the insurance business for over 30 years while also participating in Young Republicans, serving on the Orchard Park planning board, and starting a family.
A passionate sports enthusiast, William could always be found cheering on his beloved Mizzou Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Buffalo Bills. His loyalty to his teams was matched only by his loyalty to his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church 6919 Transit Road East Amherst, NY on August 29, 2025 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
