Clifton E. Hodgson passed away peacefully and suddenly on Wednesday, July 20th at the age of 92 in his Florida home. Clifton was previously a resident of East Aurora, NY. Clifton was born in 1929 in East Brady, PA and came to New York at the age of 16. He served in the Korean War from 1949-1951. During his younger years Cliff worked at W.J. Clements and then founded Hodgson Pools Sales in 1958. Cliff opened Hodgson's originally as a pool store and eventually grew the business and started selling lawn and garden equipment and Lionel trains. Cliff’s daughter’s and son in-law took the business over in the 1988 and just recently closed the business. Cliff was not only proud of his family business, but he loved to see the daily operations and his family thriving while putting in the hard work on the business he loved. During retirement Cliff loved spending time with his wife and family at Rushford Lake, going to the Bahamas and doing yard work. Cliff was a wonderful husband to the late Evelyn Hodgson and father to late Mark Hodgson. Cliff is survived by his two daughter’s Lynn Pierce (Tim) and Kim Lindbergh (Mitch, Zach & Lauren). Survived by his grandson Jay Pierce (Sally), granddaughter Tanya Pierce (Kenny) and great grandchildren Natalie & Olivia. There will be a private showing for the immediate family at Woods Funeral Home August 1st from 9am-11am. The family gratefully declines any flowers and can make donations to the local SPCA.
