Dear Pat and JIm:  So sorry to learn of Faye's passing, she made a big difference in my life.  I met Faye through playing bridge with the Elma women and we sure had a lot of fun, especially if Faye was playing in the group.  I remember one night playing all night at Aldine Hitzel's home and I got home just in time to go to work the next morning.  I have Faye to thank for an introduction to Bill Paxon and a career in government, which I loved.  Fay's wit and the famous rolling of her eyes at something outrageous captivated all of us.  Throughout all of her illness she never complained and was always upbeat.  I will miss her so much as will so many others.  Love to you Faye, and thank you for being my friend.  Teddy Murdoch

When I was a child at my grandparents' place on Wolfe Island, I remember Faye dropping by to visit them. Fishing, swimming ... summers to remember.  Always a pleasure when Faye stopped by. RIP to a great lady.

I was so sorry to learn of Faye's passing from Teddy Murdoch, but enjoyed a wonderful conversation with Faye this spring when we reminisced about our many, exciting political activities together dating back to the mid-70s. 

She was a one-of-a-kind lady, a true political force of nature who mentored many up-and-coming men and women into office, myself included. 

There were many times a brick wall would be run into, Faye would be consulted and she would say, in that memorable voice, "well, we'll see about that..." and quickly things got fixed!

And through it all, she maintained her brand of country charm that was warm and engaging to one and all. 

Your parents were a very special couple and, while deeply missed, together they left a very high bar of government, political and community service for all who followed... service infused with honor, integrity and genuine concern for Elma and all Erie County.

Jim and Pat, please know that Faye, Bill and your family remain in our family's thoughts and prayers.

To Aunt Faye, an amazing woman.  Even tho we truely weren't related by blood, you treated me and accepted me into your family like I was blood related. For that I am eternally grateful.  I will miss your laugh and beautiful smile and all the little jokes we shared together.  I admired you more than you know.  I will miss you to no end.  You and I were so much alike, I am sad that you won't be here to see me get married.  I will always think of you as my family because you always treated me as such.  I know that your in our Heavenly Father's hands now in Heaven, right where you should be.  You were an exceptional woman and will be greatly missed.  I love you always. A few months ago I had the honor of caring for an extraordinary human being.  A courageous woman battling for her life. After years of working in nursing facilities; I had switched to home care.  And she was my first home case.  They say God brings people in and out of your life for a reason,  I never imagined that last hug would be the last.  My heart and thoughts are with you and your family...You will be forever loved and missed Faye.  Thank you for reminding me of the goodness and beauty that still exists in this world.  You are truly an inspiration.  May you rest in peace...

Carolyn and I moved to Florida in 2010 and Faye was the first to welcome us.  Faye was always smiling and proved to be a wonderful neighbor and a true friend.  Many good times and lots of laughter will always be a big part of our fond memories of her and Faye was always very good at giving her opinion (as you probably know) and we loved her for it.  Our 8 year old granddaughter Britlynn became very close to her and would always go see Faye when she visited.  Britlynn cried and wouldn't go see Faye after the news of Faye's sickness and possible death so we eventually told Britlynn that Faye was doing better and that Faye might have to go live with her daughter.  After we told Britlynn the good news there was a big smile, her eyes got big and the first thing she wanted to do was go see Faye.  Faye had a great loving infkluence on Britlynn.  I saw that Faye had alot of faith in the Lord and I saw her faith get even stronger after the doctor told her the news that she didn't have long.  Faye was very brave and never showed any regret and never complained when we met even though I knew she was in pain.  Faye always had a smile for me and she would really cheer up when I asked her if we could have prayer together. A few days ago I read the scriptures of John 14:1-3.  After reading them to her I looked at her and asked, "Aren't those verses comforting?"  Faye only gave me a big smile and patted me on the hand and that showed me that she was comforted.  The day before Faye went home to be with the Lord, I read her Psalms 23:1-4. I will never forget that before I read the scriptures she told me that she was leaving and asked that her family gather around her bed.  During the reading of the comforting words of David there was a calmness about her.  We will miss her but memories will never fail to always have her near.  John 14:1-3  Christ said, let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me, in my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  Psalms 23:1-4  The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul, He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Yea, though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Fay. My condolences go out to her family. I got to know Fay for a short time and loved her sense of humor, her smile and she was always upbeat. She was a great person and I hope she is smiling in heaven and together with Bill and all her friends who have passed before her. She will be missed.

Jim And Pat, My condolences on the passing of your mom. She was a very special lady . I did your moms hair for years when she lived in Elma and also when she would come back around fair time. We also had a few nice lunch times at the Eagle House  Restaraunt.She will be missed.

Dear Pat & family, So sorry for your passing of your mother.  I enjoyed the vists I made to your house on Jamison Rd. Especially getting there walking through the field when we were in our younger years. It was a great honor to know your Mom and Dad.  There are many of those memories I treasure.  God Bless

You will always be remembered in our home as "Aunt Faye", although not even related to us. At the Elma Town Hall, you are always referred to as Elma's "First Lady". Few people have left the legacy of touching so many people's lives and giving so much of yourself to others. You will be very missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for making us feel like family.

As a little girl I would come to your house and you would make me feel like a princess. As a teenager I watched you stand beside Uncle Bill and give of yourself ro serve the Elma community. As a young woman and mother I learned family is everything, especially my child. As a middle aged adult you showed me perseverance , dignity and strength in the face of adversity as you fought cancer on multiple occasions. You have taught me so much and I will miss you. I hope right now you are looking down on me and playing the best card game ever!  Love you so much!

As a little girl I remember coming to your house.  You made me feel like the most special princess. As a teenager I watched you stand behind Uncle Bill and show the community of Elma your grace and ever present generosity. We have so many  wonderful memories of our stays with Faye in Daytona, she was quite the hostess..we certainly will miss her, we loved her dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. RIP dear Faye.
