When Jim got home from war he went on to marry his beautiful devoted wife Noma Schoneman whom loved and cherished for 67 years til she was called on to be with the good Lord. Together Jim and Noma had four fantastic children. He is survived by his precious daughter Catherine Long , and son Eric Schoneman, and proceed by his sons Carl Schoneman and Mark Sconeman. He also is survived by his brillant grandson Benjamin Long and his wife Linda Garcia whom Jim had a fondness for. As well as having some wonderful great grandchildren, he said he always looked forward to their weekly visits especially seeing his great granddaughter Sophia. He had some very dear friends Janice and Michael Hudzinski whom he was like a father figure too and like a granddad to there 4 children Shaggy, Jordan, Persephone, and Samantha and he'd get a kick playing with their grandsons Zachary and Shaun. Jim retired from Sothwestern Bell after 35 yrs of dedicated service. During his employment he setup communication for the space shuttle Apollo (He loved to tell how he answered the "red phone" & the secret service men for JKF whom he met came rushing in at him, he said it was quite hilarious having to explain he was the supervisor overseeing the project) and Sputnik as well as country legend Mickey Gilley's home phone. Jim was a devoted Catholic and had a very kind heart. He was very generous and giving to several different charities most notably war vets and animals. He is going to be so deeply missed by his fur babies Scamp and Ellie Mae whom were SPCA rescues and so many more than mentioned family and friends. He was truly a Blessing from God to all he came in contact with.

Mr. Jim, you will be missed for the rest of my life. You were one of the kindest, most selfless men I have ever been blessed to know. I'll never forget when I interviewed you for my college English class, I learned so much about you, you were the most interesting, well spoken men I have ever met. May you rest in peace with your beloved family, and finally not be in pain anymore. I'll miss you more than words can describe. The world is a much lesser place without you in it. I love you. 💕
