Janis A. Burger of East Aurora, NY. Born April 14th 1959, passed into heaven on Wednesday November 27th 2019. Janis was a rare combination of someone who had a true love of life and a firm understanding of what was truly important- the simplicity of living a life with those you love. She was kind and welcoming to every person she encountered and never met a stranger. She was a cherished friend to so many and knew how to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking and shared her love of food and music with everyone. She was immensely strong willed and one fierce Momma Bear! Most of all, she loved her family and instilled strong values that have served us well. She will be remembered for so very many reasons but mostly for her beautiful smile and selfless spirit. Her legacy will live on HEART AND SOUL. Janis is survived by her husband and soul mate of 40 years, Carl Burger, her two daughters and their husbands, Jamie and Daniel Sarata and Tiffany and Richard Walczak, her mother and father, Anthony and Emily Stolzman, her sister and her husband Elaine and Michael Bykowicz, and her grandchildren, Ian Sarata, Elias Sarata, and Ona Sarata. Help share both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain that her passing brings. In sharing the joy and the pain together, may we lessen the pain and more clearly remember the joy. Even though she has passed unto heaven, the way she touched all of our lives will remain. We ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and celebrating her life Saturday morning December 7th 2019 between 10:00AM to 1:00PM at the Columns Banquets located at 2221 Transit Road Elma, NY. 14059. In lieu of flowers, share a smile, show some love, be kind to someone everyday and live your life more like how Janis lived hers.

Our hearts ache so unexplainably bad over the loss of one of the greatest people we have ever know and life will not be the same without her. Janis was the shining light of our family. Whether we were together for a family gathering, on the phone with Janis, or we were just over at their house just to stop by, our faces and stomach would hurt from all the laughter and smiles Janis would bring us. Being apart of her family was one of our greatest blessings. Janis was the most loving, caring, and selfless person we have ever known and it was our biggest honor of knowing and loving her unconditionally. We will cherish the memories from over the past 9 years with her and hold them close to our hearts. She is going to be missed beyond measure, and loved forever - heart and soul.

Love always,

Frank, Alyssa and Justin

I will never forget the first time Janis called me....she said.. "Hi Barbara, this is Tiffany's mom Janis Burger" ..... that was the start of a great friendship that turned into family, 9 years ago. Over those years I will cherish all the great times we had together & keep all those memories close in my heart.
Janis had a warm kind soul & welcomed everyone into her life, that is what made her such an exceptional warm, kind, loving, caring person.
Every night when I look into the sky and see the brightest star shinning... that's Janis ...no doubt !! May you rest in peace my dear friend....We Love You Always & Forever... Until we meet again

I'm related to Janis as Carl and I are cousins. We never really got together until our Uncle Lee told us both we should. He, like Janis, knew how important family should be. It was love at first sight. Janis would call me everyday and boy, would she make me laugh. We did so many fun things together. Making Christmas hanging baskets and meeting at the Marilla General Store to sniff all the spices. There are so few comforting words when we need them most. When we speak of her, let's not speak with tears because memories of her are not sad.

Janice was a dear friend and looked after my Aunt and Uncle, Lillian and Bill Gotshall's home for several years. She was so kind to them and always smiling. Always going out of her way to be helpful.
To Janis' family, Be comforted in knowing she is with you always, in your hearts and watching over you. She spread much love and will be missed 💕

"Hello Longhair". Probably the first words I ever spoke to Janis when I was three and she was seventeen as I played with her long blonde hair. I only know that because she told me all the time. She loved telling the story of our earliest memory together. My last words to her were "I love you heart and soul". Between those words were a lifetime of memories I will always hold close to my heart. And though I've seen fire and I've seen rain, I always thought that I'd see you again my Auntie Janis, my second mother, my cousin, my friend.

So many memories my heart, mind and soul are overwhelmed. She taught me so much about life. Her strength and courage awed me. She was and always be the bright and shining light in my life. God gave me and everyone she knew the beautiful gift of herself. I'll be thankful and grateful with all my heart and soul forever. Till we meet again on the other side of the stars my dearest soul sister.

I have so many amazing memories with Janis! We developed a beautiful bond over the years and although she is not my aunt by blood, she always insisted that i call her auntie Janis, which I gladly did because she truly felt like family! Some memories that come to mind are attending the James Taylor concert in Pittsburgh while i was in college! Attending the America concert at Artpark and the many hilarious memories created at our camp in Old Forge, NY with Janis’s whole family! Oh and dancing to Backstabbers by the O’Jay’s, my heart smiles remembering these wonderful memories! My thoughts & prayers go out to the Burger family during this difficult time.

My Deepest Sympathy. Jan loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She put her all into everything she did.A fun time with family and friends meant so much to her.Candy introduced me to Jan and from day one I felt like I had known her forever. When she asked me to watch her precious Jamie when she was giving birth to Tiffany,I felt honored because I knew how loving and protective she was of her.She trusted me and we had a special bond. She adored her dog Newman ,”The Human” and treated him as a member of the family. When we ended a conversation Jan would say,”Heart and Soul” and I would respond,”Luv Ya Too”.Now l say to you My Special Friend, I Will Luv You Heart and Soul Forever.
