Marcella B. Albee

Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, to Beatrice and Arthur Fecteau, Marcella enjoyed what she often described as an idyllic childhood in a large French Canadian Catholic family. Raised by loving and hardworking parents, she developed the strong faith, determination, and work ethic that would guide her throughout her life.

At a time when few women pursued such paths, Marcella demonstrated an adventurous spirit by becoming a Registered Nurse. She accepted a commission as a Naval Officer and was stationed in Oakland, CA and later in Chelsea, Massachusetts. During this chapter of her life, she was introduced on a blind date to Ross V. Albee. The two were soon married in Chelsea, Massachusetts, November of 1957. Together they shared 48 years of marriage until Ross' death in early 2006.

After becoming a mother, Marcella continued her nursing career at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo, New York. She took great pride in serving veterans and was instrumental in helping establish the hospital's hemodialysis unit in the late 60s; a program that continues to serve patients today.

Outside of her profession, Marcella was a talented needleworker and accomplished seamstress whose creativity and craftsmanship were appreciated by family and friends alike. Her lifelong passion was her Catholic faith. A devoted parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in East Aurora for nearly 60 years, Marcella attended daily Mass and faithfully served as sacristan for many. She faithfully prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet, eagerly leading others in prayer whenever the opportunity arose. Never one to shy away from expressing her convictions; she spoke openly and enthusiastically about the faith she cherished and what she lovingly referred to as "the one true Church."

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Ross V. Albee Sr.; her parents, Beatrice and Arthur Fecteau; her sisters, Carmen, Priscilla, and Monique; and her brothers, Jean, Paul, Maurice, Gerard, and Arthur, as well as many of their spouses.

She is survived by her brother Ralph Fecteau and his spouse Doris; her children: Grace Albee (Ruth Hooker), Ross Albee Jr. (Ted Miles), Keith Albee (Lucie Albee), and Monique Brannon; her grandchildren: Sarah Glaudemans (Timothy Glaudemans), Seth Albee (Dr. Hannah Kass), Maggie Brannon, and Lily Brannon; her great grandchildren: Maeve Glaudemans, and Grant Glaudemans; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Marcella's legacy lives on through the family she loved, the patients she cared for, and the faith she shared so generously with everyone she met. Her unwavering devotion to God, her commitment to service, and her love for family will be remembered with gratitude and affection by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Wood Funeral Home, East Aurora, New York, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. July 24, 2026.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, East Aurora, New York, on July 25, 2026, at 11 a.m.

As a commissioned Naval Officer, Lieutenant Marcella Albee will join her husband and be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The date and time of the burial service will be announced by the family when arrangements have been finalized.
