Much like a disco ball, Marsha gracefully spun with joy and illuminated every facet of her vibrant and well-rounded life. To know Marsha was to understand what it felt like to be loved, to feel entirely warm, and accepted. Effortlessly, she could turn the mundane into magic. This is how she will be remembered, always.
Marsha attended Cleveland Hill High School before studying Physical Education at SUNY Brockport and received her Master’s Degree at Canisius College. She went on to teach Physical Education at Holland Central High School and also taught dance at various studios in the Buffalo area.
She transitioned towards raising a beautiful family and creating a home life where friends, extended family, and neighbors were welcomed as if they were her own, with an open door and open fridge.
Later, Marsha wove her thorough knowledge of homemaking into a career in housewares distribution offering unique quality products to elevate home functionality and entertainment. Marsha ultimately amplified her professional talents towards an entrepreneurial venture, providing, along with her fellow knitters known as “Flock Fiber Arts”, a carefully curated collection of yarn and fiber at MUSEjar in East Aurora.
Marsha met the love of her life, Ray in 1981 and they married at St. Matthias Church in East Aurora in 1984. Marsha and Ray built their life together, creating a home that was welcoming and filled with the hum of music and laughter. Year after year, they serviced the mighty people of Patzun, Guatemala with mission driven dental care, they hosted the most memorable holiday parties in their zip code and spent much of their time visiting their children in Los Angeles, New York City, and the Greater Washington, DC area.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband Ray Niceforo, son and daughter-in law Alex and Alexandra Niceforo, daughter Taylor Niceforo, son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Maria Christina Niceforo, sister Sharon Woods (Gary Woods), and cousin Tracey Falconer (Chris Falconer).
A visitation will be held at Wood Funeral Home on Friday, January 12th from 8:00am-12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Millard Fillmore Suburba
