

Norbert Anthony “Barney” Burger of East Aurora, NY, entered into rest February 5th, 2017. Born March 27th, 1932 in Buffalo, NY to the late Teresa and Anthony Burger. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Edna Louise (nee Holderith, 2010). Predeceased by his sisters Betty (Paisley) and Theresa (Maher) and his twin children David (1968) and Dolores (1976). Survived by his brother, Robert (Mary Lou); and Norbert’s children Elizabeth of Oberlin, OH, Michael (Jami) of Forestville, Barbara of East Aurora, and Eric (Kelly) of Buffalo. Grandfather of nine and Great-Grandfather of nine. A 1950 graduate of Seneca Vocational HS; he served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956, and was stationed in Fairbanks (Ft. Wainwright), Alaska. He retired from Moog Inc after 34 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the EA Fish & Game Club. He was an avid euchre and pinochle player and together with his wife Edna competed in tournaments at EA American Legion, the Moose Club, the Chicken Coop, Max & Soph’s, and the Country Inn. They also travelled extensively with the EA Senior Center. Family will be present to receive friends Saturday, February 11th, 2017 from 3p-7p (a service will follow) at Wood Funeral Home 784 Main St. in East Aurora. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to Hospice Buffalo.
