We were very sorry to hear that Ron had passed away.  We knew him from Charlie's in East Aurora and I enjoyed always seeing him and talking to him.

My dad George Pilger(90 yrs old) and my mom Shirley Borschel(89yrs old) both send their heartfelt condolences to the family with lots of fond memories from the “good ole days” in West Falls. The stories they still tell me ( Linda Pilger-Kuhn) including Ron are ALWAYS colorful ;)!

Many wonderful dinners with my parents - starting when I was very young until they died. The lima beans and the fantastic steaks. Good people, good food, and wonderful memories. 

Linda, so very sorry to hear about our Slugo,, I have many fond memories of you and Ron and your extended family coming to Conesus Inn...  he will always be remembered by me. I am so happy Debbie and I got to see him this past winter... Keep in Touch

Dear Linda, Punky and family-
My heart goes out to you in the loss of Ron.  I met Ron at Bev Stewarts PT in 1988 and worked with him in therapy on and off since.  I loved him to pieces.  I will miss his jokes, his periodic political incorrectness and his smile.  What a good, hard working man! Rest in peace, my friend! 

West Falls has lost its foremost citizen. Veteran, heroic fireman, entrepreneur, businessman, employer, entertainer (his wit made Johny Carson look like an amateur), historian, and most of all life-long friend. From buying bbs from him 60+ years ago in his sportsman's shop, being invited into the Dog Bar for a pop when covered with shaving cream & eggs on Halloween, working for him in the 60s & 70s (every day was an adventure) to hiring him to do work for me, Ronnie was ALWAYS there to help! I have always said if you worked for or with Ron Schenne, Rod Newman or Don Eaton, there is nothing life can throw at you you can't handle. Losing Ron leaves a huge hole in our lives, but that hole is filled with wonderful deeds and memories. Very hard to say RIP to such a dynamic man and good friend. Think of Ron when you pass our Veteran's Park or the Dog Bar!

My heart felt sorrow for all of Ron's family. He was such an awesome guy. He will be missed. Fly high Ron. You have left your family with many great memories.

Rest in peace Ron....we will miss your many stories and jokes and your indelible image sitting at the end of the Dog Bar's bar keeping a vigilant eye over the place! The Dog Bar won't be the same experience without your presence any longer but we will always hoist a drink to your memory!

I met Ron soon after I started my career at the Post Office when we were next to the Dog Bar.  He would make his daily visits to pick up his mail and would either holler something out to me when I was working or he would stop at the counter on the way out to tell one of his jokes. Ron was one of the "regulars" that we would have so much fun with. He was such a great guy!!!! My thoughts and prayers go out to Ron's family.

Dear Punky and Dave.  I was sad to read about Ron's passing.  He was a good man and I always respected him.  From the 'old' days at Inn Cahoots I remember you both fondly.

Ron was my go to man for a long time. Hard worker, straight to the point in conversation. I will miss him 

Our deepest condolences to the Schenne family. Jean and I lost a dear friend who always greated us with a smile, a story and a joke. Ron and everyone at the Dog Bar made each visit very comfortable and it always felt like we were coming home. Ron would always tell Jean there’s an old ugly guy following you while I was told, “ why don’t you just send me $50 a week and stay home”. Ron will always have a special place in our lives and our hearts. I am at a loss to properly explain how much he will be missed. They say the older you get the more goodbyes you say, this one hurts.
