I was Bill's "boss" at Habitat. As if he needed one. I was at a loss of words trying to think about what to write and then realized; Bill would not have been.
He always had kind words to say for every person and every reason. As I am sure others will say; and rightfully so; he was a great guy. His commitment to me, Habitat, the other volunteers, the community and most notably his family was really remarkable. A normal person does not wake up in a blizzard and decide to drive 30 miles to hang out with a bunch of old people to paint. Bill did. People learned from Bill not because he spoke; but because he did. His legacy and impact is far reaching. Bill most certainly will be missed. I was proud to have learned from him.

I was saddened to hear of your loss. Please know how sorry I am.
He was a friend, a colleague, and a kind, gentle person. The kids at Allendale loved him!

I've had the honor to work with Bill on Habitat houses for nine years. He had a master's touch when it came to finishing drywall on our houses. We gave him some real challenges with our efforts. His unfailing patience and good humor made it a pleasure to deal with him. My prayers go out to his family and all those of us who lost a real gentleman. He will be missed.

My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to the Devine Family. Truly a great man and amazing educator.

Mr. Devine.... Where do I begin?!?
You were my 2nd grade teacher at Allendale Elementary(1999-2000). Though 21 years later, you were by far, one of my favorite teachers.

I have fond memories of after lunch, the class sitting around you while you played the keyboard and taught us multiplication facts. I can vividly remember you coming into my 6th grade math class when we were given a timed quiz for multiplication facts and said
“ Remember 2nd grade.. you know what you are doing, Ashley”

Mr. Devine, I remember you and Mrs. Mampe singing with the chorus when I was in 5th and 6th grade. You had an amazing singing voice, no wonder Ms. Vento called upon you to sing with us!

May you Rest In Peace, you will truly be missed.

I've known Bill and MaryAlice for such a long time. They both decided to sing with BCAS and me and I was truly grateful, and delighted. MaryAlice and Avis and your whole family please know of my sadness at Bill's passing. May the angels sing him into paradise. RIP Bill.
