Mrs. Alberta Gwen G. Kamm McCarron

Alberta “Gwen” G. McCarron 98, longtime resident of East Hartford passed away on Monday July 11, 2011 at the Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 9, 1913 in Glastonbury daughter of the late Albert G. and Grace Ella (Ellis) Kamm. Alberta was the widow of Clarence McCarron who predeceased her on December 24, 1983. Gwen was a lifelong member of New Covenant /Burnside United Methodist Church in East Hartford and had worked for 31 years for FINAST Supermarket in Glastonbury as a Data Processor. She was a wonderful cook and baker but above all was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She leaves a son Clarence McCarron of Norwich, daughter’s Judy McCarron of Carmel, IN and Jean Duffy of East Hartford: grandchildren David, Stephen, Julie, Patti, James, Kathy, Robert, Jon, Peter, Lynn, Thomas Derek and Dean: great grandchildren Carron, Alex, Aiden, Owen, Beth, Brian, Kaylee, Stephanie, Andrew, Kaitlyn B, Bryan, Justin, Kaitlyn W and Megan: great-great granddaughters Emma and Anna: and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter Carole Walsh: two sons Roger and Robert McCarron: sisters Hope, Dorothy and Eleanor: and brothers Donald, Roger and Allen.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 30th at 11:30 am with Rev. Gary Richards officiating in Hillside Cemetery, 162 Hillside St., East Hartford.
