

He was born in East Hartford on March 24, 1926 in the home of his parents Sadie and Santo Falcone.
Married on May 12th 1953 to June (Dishaw) Falcone of East Hartford for 33 ½ years, he remarried at age 80 to Evelyn (Siemer) Falcone of East Hartford were they remained married for 9 years until her passing.
Born, raised and resided in East Hartford for 93 years until moving to Broad Brook, CT. in 2019 to be close to his son and daughter-in- law for the remainder of his life.
He graduated from East Hartford High School in 1944.
After graduating from High School, He enlisted in the Navy was given a medical discharged shortly after as WWII was ending.
Alfred enrolled in college and graduated from Colorado School of Mines in 1949 with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
He later received his Master’s in Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1960
He was briefly employed by Pratt and Whitney and Hamilton Standard. Then hired in 1953 by Kaman Aircraft as a Metallurgical Engineer. In 1960 was promoted to Chief Materials Engineer and held that position until his retirement in 1986. Much of his career included travel throughout the world covering naval helicopter accident investigations for Kaman Aerospace.
Alfred has been a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church in Harford for 75 years. Serving on the Board of trustees from 1972 thru 1993, holding the position as Board Chairman for his last 8 years.
Alfred Served on numerous boards and organizations during his career, some of which included the American Society of Metals, American Helicopter Society, ASTM and SAMPE.
He loved spending his free time gardening, had a lifelong love of fishing, enjoyed bowling for much of his life and we cannot forget his love of card playing especially Poker at the Casino. Alfred always has time for the “never-ending” jig saw puzzle on the table where he spent countless hours with family and his neighbors.
He is survived by his son Fred Falcone and wife Vickie (Pearson) Falcone of Broad Brook, CT and his daughter Fayellen VonDeck and husband John of Myrtle Beach, SC. His younger brother Richard Falcone and wife Janice of Griffin, GA.
He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren Sandra, Melissa, Fred II, Nicholas, Virginia, William Jr. and Elizabeth, sixteen Great-grandchildren, one Great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brother James Falcone, Parents Santo and Sadie (Vessalo) Falcone, 1st wife June and 2nd wife Evelyn.

Calling Hours will be held Friday January 8, 2021 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT. 06108. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 9, 2021 at 10:00am at Central Baptist Church 457 Main St. Hartford, CT. For those unable to attend in person the Church Service will also be available by going to Zoom at https;//zoom.us/j/715223876 Followed with burial in the family plot at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill CT.
