Ana Maria Garcia Rivera

Ana is survived by two daughters; Edith Hernandez of East Hartford and Myrna Montalvo-Sahlberg and husband Ellis Sahlberg of Florida, one son; Reinaldo Montalvo of Newington; 16 grandchildren; Mayra (Ralphael) Gonzalez, Marylou Gonzalez, Jose Hernandez, Jose Luis Ortiz (Milagros Santiago),Emilia Ortiz (Jose Rodriguez), Elaine (Lance) McDougal, Diana Gonzalez, Nico (Ashtyn) Rodrigues, Amy Nadeau, David (Melissa) Montalvo, Myrna Goicoechea, Krista (Chris) Spada, Fernando Montalvo and Ian (Amanda) Montalvo, Carlos Jimenez, Ita Jimenez and Shawn Jiminez. 34 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren . She was predeceased by a son Charlie Jimenez, a great-granddaughter; Tina and great-great grandson Leonel.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 24 from 5-7pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home. 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Don’t think of her as gone away –

Her journey’s just begun;

Life holds so many facets –

This earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting

From the sorrow and the tears

In a place of warmth and comfort

Where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing

That we could know, today,

How nothing but our sadness

Can really pass away.

And think of her as living

In the hearts of those she touched…

For nothing loved is ever lost –

And she was loved so much
