Pinto was born June 5, 1930, in Hartford, to Antonio and Teresa Leitao. For many years the Leitao family lived in Hartford in a strong Portuguese community. In 1949 he was drafted into the US Army and did a tour in the Korean War. Once back in the US in 1951, he reunited with and married his beautiful wife Agnes (O'Brien) and they moved to their forever home on Preston Street to start their family. Pinto and Aggie were blessed with four children: Michael, Holly, Brian, and Lori.
In his younger years, he enjoyed attending dances at the VFW, Portuguese Club, and Irish Club and made many memories bowling and coaching at South Windsor Ten Pin. In retirement, Pinto could be found at his son Michael's station, Leitao's Automotive, sitting in his chair in the back, and giving his favorite people a hard time.
Pinto is survived by his son Michael Leitao (and his wife Karen Leitao), his grandchildren Lori (Little) Gidarakos (and her husband Greg Gidarakos and daughter Kennedy), Danielle (and her husband Kevin Rio). Megan (and her husband Dylan Clark) Dylan, and Kevin Leitao (and his fiancé Heather Strauss). He was predeceased by his wife Agnes, daughters Holly and Lori, son Brian Leitao, as well as his parents and siblings: Albert, Jackie, Alfred, Sammy, Joe, Johnny, sisters Juila Nieves, Bea Fonseca, and Suzie Santos.
Pinto will always be remembered for his incredible strength and devotion. He was an adored father, husband, grandfather and friend. The world will be a bit darker without his light.
