

Ann Marie Parsons, 60, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, left this world after a prolonged battle with cancer. Ann Marie has gone to be with her father and the Lord. Ann Marie was surrounded by family when she gained her angel wings. Ann Marie, formerly of East Hartford, passed away on Sunday July 21, 2024 at Salmon Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Glastonbury, CT. Ann Maire(Annie) was born in Hartford and grew up and attended school in East Hartford.
Annie fought courageously against cancer, undergoing chemotherapy for many months. Annie BEAT cancer, only to have it return a few years later. Annie was a warrior: She had an amazingly fierce, strong personality, that was loved and adored by all who knew her. She had a passion for artistic endeavors, having been known to create beautiful paints and exquisite holiday/arts and crafts items. Annie also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She found much joy in spending time with her family and with her pet cats.
The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care and loving support of the staff at Salmon Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, along with the staff at St. Francis Hospital, Oncology/Palliative care unit during the last few weeks. Thank you also to the Hospice team at Masonicare of East Hartford for the information and care provided recently.
She will be deeply missed by so many.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Knowlton (Parsons), her children: Joshua Parsons of Windsor Locks, CT; Kyle Mcadorey of Portland,CT, Tyler Brown of South Carolina and Brianna Welesky of Bloomfield, CT and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Kim(Parsons) Bailey, her husband Donald and their daughter Deanna Bailey; James Parsons his fiance, Deborah Page, James' daughters Cecelia and Emily Parsons; Lisa (Parsons)Jacobs her husband Adam and their son Hayden Jacobs; Patricia (Parsons) Classon, her husband James and their daughter Courtney (Classon) Day her husband Kyle and their son James. Annie was predeceased by her father, James R. Parsons.
Relatives and friends may call at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 9-11am with a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
