

Anthony M. Farinella, 87, of Vernon, beloved grandfather of Nicolas, Emily and Isabella, lifelong companion the late Maryann Bristol, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013. He was born June 13, 1926 to the late Joseph and Josephine (Cicero) Farinella.
He was a loving father and grandfather who cherished time spent with family. Tony was a proud Army veteran serving in the No France Rhineland Central Europe GO 33 during WWII as an Amphibian tractor driver, in the 737th tank battalion, 5th infantry division, earning several medals and his certification in radio operating. He will be most remembered for his unique sense of humor and his love for his family.
In addition to his grandchildren, Tony is survived by his daughter Cindy Farinella Carbone and his son in-law Joseph Carbone; his sisters, Connie, Ninnette and Catarina; his sister in-law and friend Virginia Farinella and best buddy, his cat Valik.
Burial with full Military Honors will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 10:30am, at the State Veteran Cemetery in Middletown CT.
