

Antoinette (Cannone) Benton, 81, of East Hartford died Saturday, November 26th, 2011 at Manchester Hospital. Antoinette was born in Windsor Locks, CT on July 25th, 1930 to Nicola and Angelina Cannone. While still a child, her family moved to Bari, Italy. In 1948, she was finally able to return to America, where she settled in East Hartford and soon met the handsome man with the blue eyes who became the love of her life. Antoinette loved her family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bob Benton, Sr., 3 sons Bob Benton, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Enfield, Tom Benton and his partner Joy Thompson of Florida, Jim Benton and his wife Donna of Manchester; a daughter Gail Blanc and her husband Bob of Granby; 6 grandchildren; a sister Mary Giannoccaro and her husband Joseph of Windsor Locks; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Antoinette was predeceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, November 30, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Funeral Services will begin at 9:00am Thursday, December 1, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
