

Arlee Joy (Forrest) Foley, 74, of East Hartford, passed away Monday, April 11th, 2011 at Uconn Health Center. Wonderful and Beloved Arlee Joy Foley finally received her official halo and wings after a brave battle with leukemia. She was born June 3rd, 1936 to Frank and Emma (Welch) Forrest in Hartford.
She will be missed for the hugs and kisses and waving goodbye at the front door, at the South End Senior Center, countless card games, her Grandchildren’s sports, and achievements and at the puzzle table. She will be remembered for her love of butterflies and pandas. She gave us all so much of herself and took a piece of us with her. Her seven Children and all of her Family will sorely miss her.
She is survived by her children, Sharen Ricciardelli and her husband Rick, Lois Robinson and her husband Blane, Linda Georgiades and her husband Bruce, Robert Foley Jr., Steven Foley and his wife Jessica, John Foley, Catherine Sforza and her husband Michael; her husband and the father of her Children, Robert E. Foley Sr.; her precious grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica and Andrew, Leah, Amy Lin and Brandon, Matthew and Heidi, Kayla, Kristina, Adam, Bryanna, Amy Joy, Jordan, Joshua, Alex, Mitchell, Michael; her great grandchildren (her little gems) Angel, AnnaBella, Talia, Aiden, Anastasia and many others who called her “Gramma”; a sister in-law, a brother in-law and many special nieces, nephews, and friends and her beloved dog Abbey. She is predeceased by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
We want to thank her wonderful neighbors and all the Staff at Uconn Hospital who had the privilege of caring for her. She was loved and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, at 10 am, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, April 18th, from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
