Born on January 12, 1948, in Ashland, Maine, Brenda was the daughter of the late Alice Pelkey Goslin and Victor E. Goslin.
Brenda spent most of her life in East Hartford, where she raised her family and devoted herself to being a homemaker. She was a longtime member of St. Christopher Church, and her faith was not simply something she believed—it was something she lived each day. She chose faith over fear, gratitude over self-pity, and love over everything else.
Those who knew Brenda knew they could always count on her. She approached life with quiet determination, unwavering honesty, and a deep sense of responsibility. If something needed to be done, she would see it through. She believed in doing what was right, even when it wasn't the easiest path.
Above all, Brenda's greatest joy came from caring for the people she loved. She had a remarkable way of putting others before herself, finding ways to provide, encourage, and give without expecting anything in return. Whether it meant making sacrifices so her family had what they needed or creating special moments that would become cherished memories, Brenda's love was steady, selfless, and constant. Her strength was often found in the countless quiet acts of generosity that shaped the lives of those around her.
Brenda is survived by her son, William D. Legare of East Hartford; her daughter, Michelle Klock and her husband, Jonathan, of Hebron; her grandchildren, Trevor Klock and Megan Klock; her brother, Byron Goslin of East Hartford; her brother-in-law, Daniel St. Onge; her nephews, Brian Zaccagnino and Michael St. Onge; her niece, Lauren Zaccagnino; her grandniece, Sasha Willette; her great-nephews, Nathan and Matthew St. Onge; her cousins, Shirley and Bob Duchette, and Diane and William Troy; and her cherished friends, Ruth Albert, Joan Sala, and Rita Veil.
She was predeceased by her father, Victor Goslin; her mother, Alice Pelkey Goslin; her sister, Sharon Zaccagnino; and her sister, Bonita "Bonnie" St. Onge.
Each of these family members and friends held a special place in Brenda's heart. She treasured the relationships she built over a lifetime, and the love she shared with those closest to her will remain one of her greatest legacies.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and loved ones who supported Brenda throughout her life, and to the CNAs and nurses at Jefferson House for the compassion, kindness, and care they showed her.
