
Carole Shuckerow, 85, wife of the late Robert William Shuckerow, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. She was born November 2 1939 in Hartford a daughter of the late Gordon and Lenore Brown. Carole lived a rich and vibrant life, In her younger years, she traveled across the country, eventually living in New York City-a time she often recalled with fondness She later returned to Connecticut ,where she built a life rooted in community and family.A dedicated and respected professional,Carole spent many years working at CBT Bank before retiring from Bank of America. Her commitment to her work and colleagues left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her.After her retirement she worked for part time Kohls for 17 years until she was 80 years old.
Outside of her career, Carole had a deep love for reading and could often be found with a book in hand. Before developing vision issues, she also enjoyed the quiet artistry of needlepoint. Her love for frogs became a signature part of her life-she delighted in collecting them in all forms. An informed and engaged citizen, she remained up-to-date on current events and was always ready for a thoughtful discussion about the world around her. Carole enjoyed her daily library group conversations with her wonderful friends at Woodcrest.
Carole will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and the subtle joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of thoughtfulness, resilience, and grace.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carole is survived by three daughters; Patricia (Brian) Martin of Somers, Kathleen Schultz of Vernon, Lee Anna Shuckerow and a son; Robert William (Michelle) Shuckerow of Pascoag, RI.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
