Sebastian Anthony Catanzaro, 88, husband of recently deceased Marilyn F. Catanzaro since 1951, of Hebron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Sebastian “Subby” was born in New Britain on September 22, 1927 and resided in Wethersfield before settling in his current home in Hebron. He attended New Britain Public Schools and was the owner of Subby’s Sales Appliances in Wethersfield from 1964-1974 as well as Subby’s Service Station in Rocky Hill from 1975-1977. He was later employed by various car dealerships in the Hartford area serving as service and sales managers until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield as well as the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus. Subby will be most remembered for his love of family, his Italian heritage, his “dance hall” days and his remarkable ability to fix anything mechanical. He was a man that demonstrated love in everything he did without condition or regard for himself. He was a natural born teacher and his most cherished gift was his ability to soothe and comfort children. He will be dearly missed by his children; Steven and his wife Tina, daughter Shelley and Stacy and her husband Roger, his thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation hours will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 from 4 pm – 8 pm at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury.
