

Charles (Charlie) Ralph Mumford Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on September 2nd. Born in Richfield Springs, New York, Charles was a longtime resident of East Hartford, Connecticut, where he built a life filled with family, friendship, adventure, and countless cherished memories.
Charles was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Pamela, and an adoring father to Richard (and his wife, Terry), and Thomas (and Danielle). His greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his grandchildren Emme, Mike, Zac, Matt (and his wife, Amber), Chance (and his wife, Jackie), Nattie, and Stefi, as well as six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Lyman and Margery Mumford, and his sister.
Throughout his career, Charlie worked primarily as a systems analyst, bringing dedication to his work. Later in life, he discovered a passion for scuba diving, opening the door to a new chapter of adventure. Charlie and Pam traveled together to all sorts of exotic places, creating memories and experiences that they treasured.
Charles also had a lifelong love of baseball (the Dodgers) and softball. He enjoyed playing the games himself and sharing that joy family and friends. True to his generous and welcoming nature, his home and his heart were always open to others.
Charlie will be remembered for his devotion to Pam, his deep love and pride for his family, his adventurous spirit, his love of sports, and the warmth and generosity he showed to the people around him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love and legacy with them always.
