Clarence S. Redshaw Jr., beloved husband of Judith (Kelly) Redshaw, passed away with family by his side on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the age of 77. He was born in Hartford to the late Clarence Sr. and Nancy (Bonnett) Redshaw.
He was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He was employed by several local flooring companies then went on to become self-employed. Clarence had a light hearted manor and quick wit with an adventurous spirit. He had a love for roller coasters, Westerns and the original black and white films. Together with his wife Judy, they enjoyed driving all over New England enjoying scenic “shortcuts” and eateries. He proudly enjoyed watching his grandsons play various sports. He cherished time spent with family, especially Sunday dinners and holidays.
In addition to his wife Judy of 55 years, he will be dearly missed by his sons, Clarence S. Redshaw III and his wife Deborah of Coventry, Brian J. Redshaw and his wife Eileen of Tolland; his grandsons, Zachary and David; his siblings Nancy Dowd, David Cassidy and Doreen Baj and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Hoar, Ida “Babe” Funk, Joan Griffin; his brother in-law Jack Kelly.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 10:00AM on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home, a Funeral Service will begin at the funeral home at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
