David Daniel Brennan, age 81, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Schuster) Brennan, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Born in Hartford on June 16, 1938, he was the son of Eugene and Yolande (Auclair) Brennan. Before retirement, David enjoyed a career as an Editor for P.S. Magazine. He also worked as the President for Hilb, Rogal & Hamilton Insurance Company, a supernumerary for the Town of Granby Police Department and served in the U.S. National Guard for ten years. David was an avid reader, enjoyed active bench rest shooting, weightlifting and had a love for animals. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, his family will always remember his love for sweets and the how he always found ways to sneak ice cream. In addition to his loving wife Elizabeth of 59 years, David is survived by his daughters, Kathleen (Edwin) Griffin of Virginia Beach, VA and Tracey Brennan of East Hartford, grandchildren; Edwin, Morgan, Raymond, Douglas, Colin Griffin and Kaitlyn Brennan, sister, Judith Shugrue of New Milford, and nieces; Christine Shugrue and Beth Shugrue. All services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.

We are so sorry for the loss of your Father, Husband, and Grandfather. I only met him briefly a couple of times but I feel like I knew him through all the great stories Sue would tell us. Our loved ones are only gone in physical form but kept alive through our hearts. He will always remain with you .
