

Delfino “Del” Barone, 78 of East Hartford, passed away October 19, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Eustachio and Anna (D’Andrea) Barone. Del was a communicant of St. Christopher Church. Del was a manager at Mickey’s Drive In in East Hartford for 37 years, he was the owner and operator of the former Lisa’s Restaurant and Barone’s Fruit and Vegetable Stand and his own hot dog cart. Del was also an East Hartford police officer in the 1960’s, he left the police force after the birth of his youngest son Anthony. Del enjoyed camping with his motor home and enjoyed horseback riding. He shared his passion of horses with his great granddaughter Arianna with who he treasured a very special relationship. He was a hardworking man, who prioritized his family’s needs above his own. He had the gift to gab and enjoyed people and made friends wherever he went. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Alice (Overend) Barone on January 20, 2001. He is survived by his daughter Lisa Jacobs and her husband Barry of East Hartford, his sons Daniel Barone and Anthony Barone and his wife Jennifer all of Ellington, one sister Jean Barone Casasanta of Newington, nine grandchildren, Anthony “AJ”, Brayden, Nicholas, Dominic, Lucas, Max, Simon, Erica, Michael and one great-granddaughter Arianna. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brother William Barone and his sister Anita Barone. Funeral services will be Saturday October24, 2015 at 9AM from the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial 10AM in St. Christopher’s Church, 538 Brewer St., and burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, all in East Hartford. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday October 23, 2015, from 4-7PM.
