Dominic Joseph Vendola, 90, husband for 65yrs. of Marion P (Bellody) Vendola, of Berlin CT. passed away Friday June 4, 2021, with the love of his family by his side. Dominic was born June 23, 1930 in Norwich CT. to his late parents Nicholas and Grace (Brancaleone) Vendola. Shortly after Dominic was born, his parents relocated him and his 5 sisters to East Hartford, CT. where he resided most of his life. He was a proud graduate of the class of 1949 East Hartford High School. After high school Dominic started his vocation of being a warehouse work, as a fork lift operator, before being drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. After the war was over and returning home he met Marion and their life together started. He cherished the time they had together raising their 2 boys. When Dominic wasn’t working hard to provide for his family or raising his boys, he enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, UConn basketball, family trips to Atlantic City and special time away to Myrtle Beach, S.C. with Marion. In addition to his wife Marion, he is survived by his two sons; Michael E. Roush of East Hartford CT. and James N. Vendola (Jonathan Guerrero) of Berlin whom Dominic and Marion resided with for their care. His sisters; Josephine Ryder of Rockville, CT. and Mary Botticello (Joseph) of Vernon, CT. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three sisters; Frances Vendola, Carmelia Scuta and Lucy Vendola. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the following, for the kind care they provided Dominic: Helping Hands of Bolton, CT. and his personal aide Ellen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his name to Helping Hands of Bolton.
