Doris M. Gracie

Doris M. (Young) Gracie, 81, of East Hartford, died Monday June 21, 2010. She was born on July 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Glenn and Clara (Rial) Young. She was a Unit Aide at Hartford Hospital for 30 years. Doris enjoyed crocheting, needle point, sewing, baking, cooking and traveling especially to the Connecticut shore. She is survived by her faithful and loving companion, Anthony Sasawicz, two daughters; Patricia A. Pook of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Nancy E. Rothe, one son; Robert Gracie and his wife Jacqueline of Waipahu, Hawaii, two sisters; Marion Reiss of Waterbury Connecticut, and Betty Haskins of Michigan, two brothers; Glenn Young of Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, and Sidney Young of Virginia, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by another brother, Joseph Young.

A time of visitation and reflection will be held Thursday, June 24th from 6-8 PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
