Doris Marie Hand

Doris Marie Hand, 86, of Ashford, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017 at Marlborough Healthcare Center, under the care of her loving family. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Allen Woodrow for 32 years until his passing in 1991. She was born on November 30, 1930, one of eight children to the late Dieudonne and Mederisa (Desorsy) Ritcher.

Doris was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, and sharing her creations of love with her family. She was longtime employee of American Thread, which was where she met the love of her life, her husband Allen.

She will be dearly missed by her family, daughters Sharon MacDonald of Glastonbury, Linda Messier of North Grovendale, Claire Haynes Bastien of North Franklin, sons Robert J. Hand of NC., Ed Dubeau of North Franklin and David Dubeau of Pomfret Ctr. Sister Viola, 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris is predeceased by her sisters; Rita, Violet, Loretta, brothers; Andrew and Norman, daughter Connie, son Michael and great grandson Joseph.
