Doris Ann Lafferty, 71, passed away on July 1, 2011. She was born in Hartford CT., daughter of George Lafferty and Anna Young Lafferty, on December 18, 1939. She lived in East Hartford until 1949 when they moved to Southington where she remained in her home until her death. She began working for the State of Connecticut Dept. of Motor Vehicles, later she transferred to the State Comptroller's Office, where she was employed until retiring in 1991. Doris was a kind, generous free spirit who lived life to the fullest even when she was in ill health. She leaves to miss her, many cousins, good friends, wonderful caring neighbors and her cat Carolina.
Friends and family are invited to an hour of visitation on Thursday, (July 7, 2011) from 9-10 a.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, followed with her funeral service at 10 a.m., at the funeral home.
