Elizabeth Greene Atkins

Elizabeth May (Greene) Atkins, 86, of Vernon, passed away peacefully Friday, October 3, 2014 with her family by her side. She was the cherished wife for 62 years, to the late William Holland Atkins Jr.

She will be dearly missed by her family, her four children, William Holland Atkins IV and his wife, Therese, Cynthia Atkins Johnston and her husband Gary, Richard John Atkins and Steven Duke Atkins; her seven grandchildren, Casey Brandon Johnston, Carissa Elizabeth Lombardi and her husband Nicholas, William Holland Atkins V, Daniel Vincent Atkins, Steven Duke Atkins Jr., and his wife Chenoa, Scott Jacob Atkins, and Matthew Alexander Atkins; her twin great-grandchildren, Conrad Leger Lombardi and Fiona Cynthia Lombardi; her dear brother Frank C. Greene Jr., and his wife Carol and her very special friend Hazel Turkington.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
