On July 19th 2024, Elizabeth Rose Dagon Hansen, was reunited with her beloved family in Heaven. Betty was born to Rose (Winchell) and Francis Dagon on June 2nd 1932. She grew up in the Burnside section of East Hartford amongst, what seemed to be, almost a countless number of family members. After graduating from East Hartford High School where she played basketball, bowling, volleyball, gymnastics and tumbling she married Robert Hansen and fulfilled her dream of raising her own family which she did with all the love and caring that could be given. She went to work for the Phoenix Insurance Company as a receptionist in the legal department until retiring. Elizabeth, Betty, Ma, Buggy, Gramma, Aunt Betty, whatever the name she was the kindest, most compassionate, caring person with a heart of gold. She was a huge UConn Women’s Basketball fan. She loved to color while sitting on her porch overlooking the park. Some of her fondest memories were spending summer’s at Coventry Lake at Aunt Grace’s cottage when she was young with her Cousin and best friend Ann. Then later at her brothers camps on Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire. Her and her Sister Ebbie were inseparable taking countless bus trips and vacations together.
Betty is survived by her former husband and good friend Robert Hansen Sr, son Robert Hansen Jr and his wife Anita, daughter in law Diana Hansen, granddaughter’s Jessica Hansen and her husband Matthew Cusson, and Chloe Hansen. Grandson Justin Barall. Great granddaughter Abigale Cusson and her sister in law Lorraine Dagon. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved family, parents Francis and Rose Dagon, siblings Evelyn, Francis, Henry, Thomas and Kathleen. Her son Thomas Hansen. Her daughter in law Gale Hansen.
The family would also like to thank all the staff at Stonebrook Village and Evergreen Healthcare for their great care and compassion.
