Ernesto Rosa, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully with his family at his side on August 25, 2021. He lived in Hartford for many years, but currently was a resident of East Hartford. He was born on July 11, 1940 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Cruz Rosa and Abelina Rodriguez.
Ernesto worked as a machinist for over 40 years and when he retired, he devoted his time to caring for his wife, Eulogia who was the love of his life. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the game on television, especially his team, the Boston Red Sox. Ernesto also enjoyed fishing, and used a beer can with fishing line, a fish hook and sinker whenever he went out fishing – he was old school when it came to fishing. During quiet times and during Navidad, he enjoyed listening to musica tipica for hours on end; it was a favorite past time. When his grandchildren were little, he fed them, played with them, and gave them all horsey rides. It’s one of the most significant memories his grandchildren have of him. He was the best abuelo ever! He loved every single one of his grandchildren, but Jackie was his beloved granddaughter.
Ernesto is survived by his children: Ricardo, Marita, Candie, who devoted herself to his care, and Aida. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. He leaves his sisters Esther and Josephine, his brother Rafael and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
There are many things and stories to share about Ernesto, but the list is far too long. Suffice it to say, he was a kind, loving, and gentle soul who gave all his family insurmountable love. He will be missed…
