Eugene C. Pierce

Eugene C. Pierce, 79, of East Hartford, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Gene was the beloved husband of Jeanette (R. Ouellete) Pierce for 40 years. Gene was born on July 8, 1933 in Reading, VT, a son of the late Robert F. and Muriel Pierce. Gene had been a resident of East Hartford since 1957; he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 37 years. Gene was a proud veteran of the United State Air Force. In his free time Gene enjoyed camping, water skiing and playing with his cats. In addition to his wife Jeanette, Gene is survived by his brother Robert, sister Mildred Harris and her husband David of Vernon, VT, 2 step children; step-daughter Maria Dixon and her husband Ron of Vernon, CT, step-son Raymond Reed of East Hartford, 5 grandchildren; Alex and his wife Kellie, Josh, Marc, Nikki and Dylan, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 from 5-8PM at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT. 06108. Funeral services will be the following morning, Thursday, May 16th, at the Funeral Home from 10-11AM, with a Celebration of Life service at 11am.
