

Eva M. (Bard) Macaro, 93, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April, 23, 2015. Eva was born on October 23, 1921 in Waterville, Maine, a daughter of the late John and Emilia (Dubois) Bard. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon Macaro.
She was employed by Royal Typewriter and Travelers Insurance Co., until retirement.
She was a loving and devoted mother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, shopping and cooking.
Eva will be dearly missed by her family, daughter Larna Reidy and her husband Joseph of Manchester, son Bruce Macaro and his wife Roberta of Coventry, grandchildren; Rachael, Michael, Alyson and her husband Dave, great granddaughter Marisa, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eva is predeceased by her 3 sisters; Doris Giroux, Jeanne Chadwick and Ora Grande.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and attentive staff at Riverside Heathcare Dementia Alzheimer’s unit for the past years and Masonicare Hospice for the care, love and support given to Eva in the past few days.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 8:30-9:30am at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 1 Community St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
