

Frances "Peggy" (Raymond) Masiuk, a 57 year resident of East Hartford, entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2014. She was born in Plainville, a daughter of the late Allen M. and Leonora (Jennings) Raymond and was a graduate of Plainville High School. Peggy was a parishioner of the New Covenant United Methodist Church, a member of the Share Group, Senior Citizen's Club, and the Travelers Retired Employees Club. She was a volunteer at the Friendship Soup Kitchen for 25 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with family and friends, as well as enjoying "Ampy's Camp". She helped to make Ampy's Camp a place for warm gatherings for five generations of family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Masiuk. Peggy is survived by her son Michael M. Masiuk of Milford, three grandchildren whom she loved very much, Michael J. Masiuk of Greenwich, Mark Masiuk and his wife Rose of Trumbull and Lori Blair and her husband Nathan of Orange, five great grandchildren whom she adored, Christopher Masiuk, Luke and Julia Masiuk, and Molly and Abby Blair, her brother Robert Raymond and his wife Beverly of Plainville, her sister Katherine Swanson of Plainville, son in law Tony Foran of East Hartford, several nieces and nephews and many friends, especially the Lizotte family of East Hartford, who were very dear to her heart. If addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Lynne Masiuk Foran, daughter in law Molly Dellaripa Masiuk, and her brother Allen Raymond and his wife Steffie. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff, physicians, nurses and therapists at Masonicare of Wallingford. Funeral services are Thursday May 1, 2014 at 9AM from the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, followed by a service at the New Covenant United Methodist Church, 16 Church St., East Hartford at 10AM, burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Pleasant Valley, CT.
