Freda Leona McCluskey, 91, widow of Patrick John McCluskey passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2021, at home. Freda was born February 20, 1929 in Monticello, Maine to the late Benjamin and Freda (Belyea) Bailey. Mrs. McCluskey was employed by W.T. Grants in Hartford, CT for many years.
She married the love of her life Patrick and they made their home in East Hartford, CT. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her five children. A light hearted woman, she was extremely generous and kind. She had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor.
She loved to spend time on her front porch feeding the birds. She looked forward to Christmas time as it meant a large glass of egg nog paired with her famous pumpkin pie. She often donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters and enjoyed regular church services.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her sons Patrick McCluskey of East Hartford, Douglas McCluskey and his wife Kim of South Windsor and her daughters Imogene Fantasia of East Hampton, Patricia Milton-Nichol of East Hartford, a brother Gordon and his wife Doreen Bailey of Maine, and a sister Libby and her husband Richard Cowperthaite of Maine. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren: Michael and Douglas Johnson, Richard Milton, Angela McCluskey, Jennnifer Fantasia, Jake and Kelly McCluskey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick John McCluskey Sr. and a daughter, Pamela Johnson as well as two sisters, Opal Bailey and Imogene Ivey of Maine.
