

Frederic B Clark III, Fred, was born April 15, 1936 in Ware, Massachusetts. When he was 4 years old, his family moved to Mayberry Village, East Hartford. Fred continued to live almost his entire life in East Hartford. He graduated from East Hartford High School in 1954, as a class officer. He played Varsity Football, Basketball and Baseball. Fred joined the Navy, was stationed in Okinawa Japan during the Korean War. After 4 years, Fred attended American International College in Springfield, MA, playing basketball. It was there that he met the love of his life, his wife Pat of 60 years. Fred worked as a salesman for several different corporations, including Pratt + Whitney, Clark Equipment and Arwood Corporation. He volunteered as a coach of East Hartford Little League, and was a referee for high school boys' basketball and men’s adult basketball leagues across the state of CT. Fred was a lifetime member of the Irish American Home, Glastonbury and was a member of The Elks Club East Hartford. He golfed at the East Hartford Golf Course and was a member of St Christopher’s Church, Glenbrooke Swim and Tennis Club, Sun Valley Beach Club Stafford Springs. Fred was a member of the East Hartford Democratic Club, Town Council, and served as Majority Leader for the East Hartford Town Council for many years. He was very proud of his roots and loved the town of East Hartford. His regular trips to Augie and Rays every morning were a highlight of his day, sipping coffee and discussing UConn Sports, and arguing about Red Sox vs Yankees with his buddies.
Fred is predeceased by his wife Pat (2023), and leaves his son Frederic B Clark IV (Rick) and his wife Erica of Wilmington, NC, his daughter Meaghan and her husband Jim Murray of East Hartford, his son James (Jim) and his wife Rita Gesuele of Punta Gorda FL, and grandchildren Graeden, Kellie and Sarah Sartoris, Frederic B Clark V (Finn) and Zia Clark and Victoria Anderson. Fred leaves his brother and sister in law Jack and Linda Clark, his sister and brother in law Susan and Matt Cronin, and leaves many many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held Friday September 13, 2024 from 4PM-7PM. A brief gathering will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 from 9AM-9:30AM at the Funeral Home. Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday September 14,2024 at 10AM at St Christopher 538 Brewer St. East Hartford. Interment will be immediately following Mass at St. Mary Cemetery 930 Burnside Ave East Hartford.
