Genevieve Claire Kupisz

Genevieve Claire Kupisz, 83, of East Hartford, beloved mother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 3, 1931 in West Hartford, CT to the late Alexander J. and Katherine M. Sokol.

She graduated from Hartford public High School and resided in Hartford for many years. Genevieve was employed by Chandler Evans, retiring after many years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in East Hartford. She was a loving mother devoted to her family, always available for guidance and support. Always giving her best to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and spent most of her time making gifts and blankets for her family. She will be most remembered for her kind, gentle nature and her love and devotion to her family.

Genevieve will be dearly missed by her children, her two sons, Richard Kupisz and his wife Eva of Newington, John Kupisz of Broad Brook; her four daughters, Tina Valliere and her husband Gary of East Hartford, Wanda Kupisz of East Hartford, Eileen Kupisz of Lewisville, CO and Marianne (Kupisz) Bethard of East Hartford; her sister Florence Gordon of Deatesville, AL; her 8 grandchildren, Jason, Steven, Brian, Gregory, Sarah, Brandon, Amanda and Hudson; her 6 great grandchildren, Noah, Boden, Mackenzie, Jack, Ronan and Mason; her 5 step great grandchildren, Tiana, Maddi, Sophia, Nicholas, Ayden; her former husband of 25 years, Peter J. Kupisz; her special pets, her dog Charlie and many birds.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Genevieve’s name may be made to Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center (Recreation Services), 745 Main St. East Hartford, CT 06108.
