

Genevieve M. Wolken, 94, of Glastonbury, died peacefully on July 2, 2012. Genevieve was born in Cleveland, OH, a daughter to the late Carl and Marie (Briener) Haas. She married Theodore Wolken and they made their home in Wayne, NJ.
Genevieve proudly served in the United States Army in the Women’s Army Corps, (WAC), during World War II. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a true lover of animals, especially of her dog Missy.
Genevieve is survived by her two daughters: Judi Gregg of Glastonbury and Sue Simons and her husband Bob of Brooklyn; grandson Jonathan Gregg and his wife Jennifer of Ft. Myers, FL., grandson Jason Simons of New York City, two great grandchildren; Connor and Madison Gregg, two sisters; Carol Ficht and her husband Walter of Oregon and Kay Humphrey and her husband Ted of Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, at 2PM on Friday, July 6, 2012. Burial with full military honors will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Protector of Animals, PO Box 24, South Glastonbury, CT. 06073.
