Gertrude C. (Foisy) Taylor passed away at the age of 88 on November 25, 2022 at Bay State Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on October 24, 1934 in Ware, MA to the late Efrem and Veronica (Gaj) Foisy. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Taylor; son, John W. Taylor; brother, Donald Foisy; granddaughter, Jessica Taylor; great grandchildren Alexis and Glidden Campos and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years John (Jack) Taylor as well as her sister Virginia Kopacz.
She lived in Springfield, Wilbraham and Belchertown before retiring with her husband to Palm Harbor, FL for over 25 years and moved back to Springfield after his passing in 2018. She was employed by Mass Mutual before she retired. Gert enjoyed music and was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Church choir for many years and was an avid reader.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
