Helen F. Fitzgerald Perra

Helen F. (Fitzgerald) Perra , 91, of East Hartford, CT passed away Friday, June 3rd. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Grant) Fitzgerald, and is predeceased by her husband Omer George Perra Sr., her daughter Maureen and her grandson John Perra Jr. She is survived by her children and their spouses; John and Corinne “Pinky” Perra of East Hampton, Glenn and Betty Perra of Venice, FL., Omer G. Jr. and Enid Perra of Glastonbury, and Linda and Luis Ferreira of South Windsor. Helen is also survived by 11 grandchildren and their spouses; Kevin and Margie Perra, Tracy and John Szeghy, Glenn Jr. and Lucy Perra, Aimee and Jonathan Heden, Alicia and Charles Zappala, Heather and Chris Pelletier, Greg and Rebecca Perra, Jason and Bethany Perra, Kristine and Steven Grant, Devin and Michelle Marquez, Jessica Marquez and her husband Joseph Fragoso, two step grandchildren and their spouses; Christina and Christopher Briggs, Kimberly and Michael Shepherd, 24 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

After a career in banking and before her retirement at age 72, Helen served as Purchasing Clerk for the town of East Hartford for over 20 years.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 6th, at 10am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor. Friends are asked to gather at church. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 5th, from 4 to 7pm, at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT. 06033
