

Homer H. “Bud” Stickles, Jr., 78, of Edgartown, MA, beloved husband of Donna (McMahon) Stickles for 51 years, passed peacefully on June 20, 2011. Bud was born in Springfield, MA on June 17, 1933 to the late Homer H. and Ethel (Brown) Stickles, Sr. Bud is survived by his wife Donna and his four sons and daughter-in-laws: Scott and Kellie Stickles, Jeff and Margie Stickles, Rob and Laurie Stickles, Steve and Nancy Stickles; his brother Al and sister-in-law Jocey Stickles; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fran and Judy (McMahon) Albano; and niece, Christine (Albano) Kelly and nephews, Bob and Rick Stickles and Frank Albano. He was a proud grandfather of Mitchell, Brittany, Brooke, Valerie, Olivia, Joseph, Julia, Cameron, Ava, Jimmy, Danny and Sophia.
Bud lived in Chicopee, MA in his early years and later in West Hartford where he graduated from Hall High School with the class of 1951. He attended Hillyer College. Bud moved to East Hartford, where he and Donna raised their children. They later retired to Martha’s Vineyard.
Bud worked in sales at Harmac’s in East Hartford; A.B. Dick in Wethersfield, CT and Chicago, IL; and for Canon USA. His “gift of gab” served him well and led to a successful career in sales & marketing. Bud was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the East Hartford Jaycees and the Lion’s Club of Martha’s Vineyard. He volunteered for the United Methodist Church of Edgartown, MA and Anchors Senior Center.
Bud adored his grandchildren and family. He was an enthusiast of vintage cars and trucks. He had a great interest in antique toys and trains. One of his proudest moments was when he restored a 1951 Ford truck. Bud loved to be by the water whether boating, swimming or enjoying time at the beach with his family.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at Faith Lutheran Church, 1120 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT on July 2nd, 2011 at 10:30am.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
